New €1.5m. retreat village official opened at Mayo shrine

Knock Shrine has today launched Knock Youth Village Retreat accommodation – a new state of the art retreat facility at Ireland’s International Eucharistic and Marian Shrine.

The €1.5 million facility features eco-friendly pods set in a woodland setting.

Archbishop Francis Duffy, Archbishop of Tuam officially opened the new complex as part of a ‘Dare to Hope’ event.

The launch coincided with the Irish Bishops’ Conference, in collaboration with Knock Shrine, hosted a dynamic and prayerful gathering for young adults aged 18 to 30, aiming to inspire participants to deepen their faith and renew their commitment to Christ, guided by the theme of hope.

The gathering featured expert speakers, faith sharing experiences, and a concluding Mass, celebrated by Bishop Fintan Gavin.

The launch of Knock Youth Village marks a milestone in the development of Knock Shrine.

The pods feature smart technology, high spec finishes, full ensuite facilities, twin bedded accommodation, controllable ventilation and under-floor heating.

The dedicated central hub offers a cheerful open-plan bright space for residents, with fully equipped kitchen and additional accommodation for retreat leaders.
