Number of 'maximum points' achieved at leading Mayo girls secondary school
There was a wonderful atmosphere at St. Joseph's Secondary School, Castlebar, yesterday as students arrived in large numbers to collect their Leaving Certificate results.
While results have been available online, many students chose to come back to the school to celebrate in person with their teachers and management, a tradition that makes the occasion especially meaningful in our school community.
Peadar Ó Tuathail, principal, stated: "I can confirm that a number of our students achieved the maximum points available in the Leaving Certificate this year.
"As an inclusive school, however, we take pride in celebrating the success of all students achieving the best of their ability, recognising the hard work and commitment that each one has shown throughout their studies.
"What stood out most yesterday was the palpable sense of achievement and relief among students, many of whom were confident that they have now secured a sufficient number of points to pursue their chosen university courses.
"We were delighted to welcome them back this morning and to share in such a special milestone with them.
"This is also a time to acknowledge our wonderful teaching staff who consistently go the extra mile for our students, as well as the wider staff who support them in so many different ways.
"We are also deeply grateful to their parents for entrusting their children’s second-level education to us, and I hope they are justly proud of their achievements today too."
