Potholes a growing issue on Mayo roads

THERE is an increasing issue with potholes appearing on the roads, Councillor Michael Kilcoyne has highlighted at a Castlebar Municipal District meeting.

More potholes are appearing every day and an examination needs to be done, he told council management.

Flooding is another issue Councillor Blackie Gavin wants to see addressed.

Funding is available for minor works schemes, he said, and he implored the council to apply for it and address issue. Areas he highlighted include the Crossmolina Road in Lahardane and at Cloonkeen, where a drain is blocked.
