Crews working to restore water in west Mayo

UISCE Éireann crews are responding to a burst water main in Achill which is causing supply disruptions for customers in the area.

Uisce Éireann customers in Sraheens, Derreens, Cloughmore, Currane, Polranny and surrounding areas may be experiencing intermittent outages or reduced supply this afternoon as a result of this burst.

Crews have been mobilised to site to isolate and repair the burst main. It is estimated that supply will be restored later this evening (Tuesday).

Ronan McDonnell of Uisce Éireann has assured impacted customers that all efforts are being made to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

“We acknowledge the impact of an unplanned outage for customers, and we wish to thank impacted customers for their understanding while our repairs are underway,” he said.

“Works are ongoing and we hope to have supply restored for affected customers later this evening.”
