Report links Mayo native with Slaughtneil managerial post
Austin O’Malley looks poised to be appointed senior football manager of Slaughtneil as per a report in Gaelic Life.
The Derry champions appear to have secured the services of the Louisburgh native who tasted All-Ireland club success with Cuala last year.
O’Malley, a former Mayo and Wicklow inter-county footballer, rose to national prominence during a hugely successful spell in charge of the Dalkey outfit, guiding Cuala to their first ever Dublin senior football title 12 months ago.
He later stepped away from the role after three seasons at the helm.
As a player, O’Malley enjoyed a varied and decorated career, lining out at inter-county level with both Mayo and Wicklow.
He later returned home to Louisburgh, where he captured Mayo and Connacht junior club honours.
