Community table quiz to raise funds for north Mayo church restoration

A table quiz will take place at Murphy's Bar, Lahardane, on Friday, March 13 at 9 p.m., in aid of the St. Patrick's Church Restoration Fund.

Significant work has already been carried out at the church in recent times.

The Timoney bell has been fully restored, and several trees surrounding the church that were deemed unsafe and hazardous were removed.

However, an unexpected challenge arose when woodworm was discovered in the pews and altar, a problem that required immediate attention and was not accounted for in the original budget.

With the church bearing the name of Ireland's patron saint, the timing of the quiz on the eve of St. Patrick's Day weekend makes it a particularly special community occasion.

Quizmaster on the night will be the popular entertainer Colm Brennan, with finger food, a raffle, and spot prizes.

Entry is €10 per person, with prizes for winning tables.
