Mayo braces itself for arrival of Storm Dave

Strong winds are set to hit Mayo at the weekend with the arrival of Storm Dave.

Met Éireann issues a Status Yellow wind warning for the entire country.

The forecaster said there will be very strong southerly winds, veering westerly by Saturday evening with severe gusts and coastal gales.

Possible impacts:

· Some fallen trees, branches

· Wave overtopping

· Difficult traveling conditions

· Debris, loose objects displaced

The warning will be in effect from 3 p.m. on Saturday until midnight on Sunday.
