Six Mayo projects to benefit under Heritage Grant Scheme
Minister Dara Calleary has welcomed confirmation of funding of €68,000 for six Mayo projects under the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme.
Minister Calleary said: “The Community Heritage Grant Scheme is an annual initiative that supports community groups, voluntary organisations and non-governmental organisations to protect, share and celebrate heritage at a local level. It enables groups to continue existing projects or to develop new initiatives that enhance community engagement.
"Ballyhaunis Abbey Trust has been allocated €25,000 towards the conservation site masterplan; Comhar Dún Chaochán have been allocated €24,509 for the digitalisation of the Carrateigue Collection; Ballinglen Museum and Arts Foundation has been allocated €7,075 for the digitalisation of the collection; Clare Island Community Centre has been sanctioned a grant of €6,450 for an audio guide; Kiltimagh Amenity Park will receive €2,350 for a dry stone wall skills workshop, and Knock Museum has been allocated €2,281 for an exhibition celebrating 50 years of the Bascillica."
