Achill communities unite for senior citizens Christmas fundraiser

FOR many years, Ted’s in Cashel has played an important role in bringing people together in the local Achill community, and once again preparations are underway for the much-loved senior citizens Christmas party serving the communities of Bunnacurry, Cashel, Saula and Askill.

The annual gathering has become a special social occasion for many older people in the area, with organisers and the staff at Ted’s continuing to put great effort into creating an enjoyable day of music, food, friendship and community spirit each Christmas season.

To help support this year’s event, a special Irish folk and trad fundraising concert will take place at Ted’s Function Room, Cashel, on Sunday, June 7, at 8 p.m. The concert will feature James Kilbane, Mary Wallace and John Flatley performing a lively evening of Irish folk songs, ballads and traditional favourites.

Organisers are encouraging the wider community to come along and support the night, while also enjoying what promises to be a wonderful social evening of music and entertainment.
