Warm tributes following death of much loved Mayo woman in USA

THE death has occurred in the USA of Michaella Walsh, a native of Derryharriff, Castlebar.

Michaella, Mountain View, California, and formerly of Derryharrif, died peacefully at The Stanford Hospital, California, on Sunday.

In online tributes, Michaella is being remembered as 'a beautiful soul with an incredibly kind heart'.

Fond memories from childhood are also being recalled, with one tribute on rip.ie remembering happy days: “I have very fond memories of playing football with Michaella in the back yards of each of our houses when we were very young. Michaella was really good at the football then and we'd have a great time taking turns shooting and playing in goal. She was always kind and loyal.”

Another paid tribute to Michaella: “She lived her life with extraordinary courage, strength, and grace, and her resilience is a lesson to us all.” While another friend stated: “Those that are loved on this earth are never forgotten and Michaella was loved so very much.”

Michaella will be sadly missed by her loving wife Amelia (Seattle), parents Bernie and Michael (Derryharriff), sisters Lisa, Karena and Gillian, brother Jack, brothers in-law Darren, Brian and Andy, sisters in-law Lauren and Nicole, nieces and nephews Aida, Arden, Rían, Senan, Sadie and Kennedy, parents-in-law Mike and Blythe Meigs (Seattle), among many aunts, uncles, first cousins and friends.

Funeral arrangements to follow upon Michaella's repatriation from California.
