Confirmed: Outdoor screening of All-Ireland final on the Mall in Mayo county town
Castlebar Chamber, in collaboration with members of Castlebar Municipal District, has confirmed that a giant outdoor screening of the Mayo's All-ireland SFC clash against Kerry from Croke Park takes place next Sunday at 3.30 p.m.
It location is The Mall, Castlebar, bringing supporters together in the heart of the town for what promises to be a memorable community event.
A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes to make this happen, with Castlebar Chamber president Maria Staunton and the Chamber committee leading the initiative, alongside Mayo County Council and with the generous support of local businesses.
The event will feature an eight-metre-wide LED screen, giving supporters the opportunity to experience the excitement of the All-Ireland Final together in a fantastic community atmosphere.
Chamber president Maria Staunton said: "This is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when a community works together. A huge amount of effort has gone into bringing this event to Castlebar.
"We are incredibly grateful to Mayo County Council, our Chamber committee and all of the local businesses who have supported us in making it happen.
"We hope people from across Mayo will come together, enjoy the atmosphere and get behind the team as we cheer on the Green and Red."
Councillor Ger Deere, cathaoirleach of Castlebar Municipal District, said: "The Mall is at the heart of Castlebar and it is wonderful to see it becoming a gathering place for the community to come together for such an important sporting occasion.
"Mayo supporters have always shown incredible passion for the team, and I am delighted to work with Castlebar Chamber and local businesses in helping to create a memorable experience for everyone attending."
