Fond tributes to popular Mayo man Richard Cunningham on his passing
The death has occurred of Richard James Cunningham, Welshpool, Belcarra, Castlebar, and formerly of Manchester, England.
He died peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with illness.
He will be forever loved and always remembered by his heartbroken mum Julie, his sister Sinead and brother-in-law Michael, adored nephews Harry and Jake, cousins, neighbours and many friends, to whom deepest sympathy is tendered.
Richard will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father Pat and nephew Oliver and his grandparents from the Cunningham and Evans families.
Fond tributes are being paid to him on social media.
One said: "My heart is broken to learn of Richard's passing. I met Richard in college and he was a great friend. I will always remember the wonderful times we spent hanging out and chatting."
Another stated: "Richard made this world a more beautiful place."
A further tribute added: "Richard was a kind, generous and a wonderful man who loved his family deeply."
Richard will repose at Belcarra Community Centre, Belcarra, Castlebar, on Sunday from 6 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. followed by private removal to his home.
His funeral will arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Belcarra on Monday at 12.45 p.m. for Funeral Mass at 1 p.m.
Afterwards Richard will be laid to rest beside his beloved Dad Pat in Guesdian Cemetery.
