TOM Fanning has taken the top honours in Peter Coen captain's prize at Claremorris Golf Club.

In the ladies section of the competition, first prize went to Chris Rush.

Full results on captain's prize day were: 1st Tom Fanning 99.5, 2nd Rossa Higgins 103, gross Pat Killeen 77, 3rd Alan Gurren 107.5, 4th Anthony Hennelly 107.5, 5th Brian Farragher 108.5, 6th John Haverty 109.5 (B9), 7th Ray Woolley 109.5, 8th Peter Collins 110, 9th Michael Divilly 110.5, past captains Andrew Finn 73, best 18 Ronan Gurren 71 (B9), final 9 Eamon Monaghan 37 (B6), beginners Myles Fallon, visitors Brian Finnerty.

Ladies 18-hole competition results were: 1st Christina Rush 70, 2nd Helen Cunnane 67, gross Sinead Daly 93, 3rd Martina Hennelly 71, 4th Yvonne Oldham 72. Ladies nine-hole: 1st Anne Fitzmaurice 26, 2nd Mary Coleman 25, 3rd Chris Jordan 23.
