Cocaine with €100k street value seized in west of Ireland searches

As part of ongoing investigations into the activities of an organised crime group, gardaí have stopped and searched a vehicle in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, and another in Keadue, Co. Roscommon.

Suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €100,000 was seized and two people were arrested.

A man (aged in his 40s) and a woman (in her 50s) are being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

The drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
