Mayo questions raised over delay in regional adult ADHD service opening

A Mayo TD is awaiting a response from the Minister for Health regarding the planned opening of the new regional specialist adult ADHD service for Mayo, Galway and Roscommon.

Deputy Rose Conway Walsh said the facility is due to be provided at the primary care centre in Castlebar.

The Erris-based representative wants to establish when the unit will be open and if there are any delays that will hold up in it becoming operational

Deputy Conway-Walsh has also asked the minister the interim treatment pathways available for adults with a private diagnosis of ADHD or autism while the new regional specialist adult ADHD service at the Castlebar primary care centre is not yet operational.
