Mayo community in mourning over death of 'gentleman' Jonathan Mayock

The death of Jonathan Mayock, Massbrook Upper, Bofeenaun, has evoked a huge sense of loss and sorrow in the community.

He died suddenly at Galway University Hospital, surrounded by his loving father John, mother Geraldine and sisters Shannon and Claire.

Predeceased by his infant brother Patrick, he is deeply mourned by his heartbroken family, his grandmother Bridget, uncle Michael, aunts Mary (O'Malley), Noreen (Hennelly), Bridie (Morely), Mary (Moran) and Bernie (McHale), Claire's partner Andrew, uncle's-in-law, aunt-in-law, cousins, friends, neighbours and work colleagues at SDS Ltd, Castlebar.

Many fond tributes are being paid to him online, including by colleagues at SDS (Structural Design Solutions) Limited.

"Jonathan was a gentleman. The office will be so strange without him.

"We all miss him so much. He was the kindest man and a friend to everyone," one stated.

"Jonathan was a pleasure to work with and we will all miss his quiet and hardworking presence in the office," another stated.

"It was a pleasure and privilege to have worked with Jonathan," a further tribute added.

Lahardane MacHales GAA Club also extended its sincere condolences to John, Geraldine, Shannon and Claire and all the extended families, friends, neighbours and work colleagues on the sad passing of Jonathan.

Reposing at Leonard's Funeral Home, Lahardane, this evening (Sunday) from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral Mass on Monday in St. Mary's Church, Bofeenaun, at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
