Two new Mayo stops added to Citylink service
Irish Citylink is pleased to announce the addition of Breaffy and Straide to its Ballina to Galway service, further strengthening transport links for communities across Mayo and making it easier for passengers to connect with key destinations across the west of Ireland.
The new stops form part of Citylink’s ongoing commitment to improving regional connectivity and responding to growing demand for reliable, comfortable and accessible public transport options.
Residents, students, commuters and visitors in Breaffy and Straide will now benefit from direct access to Citylink's extensive network, providing convenient connections to Ballina, Claremorris, Tuam and Galway city, as well as onward links to destinations across Ireland.
Breaffy will be added to the service from Monday, September 7, while Straide will commence from Monday, December 7, subject to the completion of road improvement works in the area.
“At Citylink, we're continually looking at ways to improve connectivity for the communities we serve,” said, Sarah Comer, Regional General Manager for Irish Citylink. “The introduction of our new stops in Breaffy and Straide is about making travel more accessible and convenient for people living and working in Mayo. Whether it’s commuting to work, travelling to college, attending appointments, or visiting family and friends, we want to make those journeys easier and more straightforward.”
Citylink also acknowledged the support of the National Transport Authority (NTA) in delivering the service enhancement. The company expressed its appreciation for the NTA’s collaboration and timely support throughout the process, which helped facilitate the introduction of the new stops and further improve public transport for communities across Mayo.
In response to valuable customer feedback, Citylink has also revised two of its later Ballina to Galway departures. The 5.30 p.m. service will now depart at 6 p.m., while the 7.30 p.m. service will depart at 8 p.m.
Citylink looks forward to welcoming students back on board and encourages students to apply for their Young Adult Card to avail of their discounted fares, and to book tickets in advance to secure preferred travel times, particularly during peak travel periods.
