Carraig Donn announces Cancer Fund for Children as charity partner for 2026

LEADING Irish retailer Carraig Donn, headquartered in Westport, has announced a new charity partnership with Cancer Fund for Children for 2026, committing to raising over €100,000 to support families affected by childhood cancer.

Cancer Fund for Children is developing a multimillion-euro therapeutic short break centre in Cong for families living with a childhood cancer diagnosis. Daisy Lodge will provide families with the opportunity to spend precious time together and create lasting memories away from the challenges of treatment and hospital visits. The centre is due to open in February 2027.

Carraig Donn is honoured to collaborate with the charity and support its mission to provide vital emotional and practical support for families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

Pat Hughes, group CEO of Carraig Donn, said: "Partnering with Cancer Fund for Children is a great honour for all of us at Carraig Donn. We are incredibly proud to support the vital work they do for families facing a childhood cancer diagnosis. Together with our dedicated teams across Ireland, we are committed to raising funds throughout the year to help make those precious family moments possible."

Cancer Fund for Children provides emotional, social and therapeutic support to children, young people and families throughout every stage of a cancer journey. The charity also delivers support in family homes, communities and hospitals across the island of Ireland, ensuring that no child has to face cancer alone.

From May, Carraig Donn customers in its 43 stores and online have been invited to donate €1 at checkout through Pennies, Ireland's leading micro-donation platform. Following a successful pilot in the Westport store, where more than half of customers chose to donate, the initiative has now rolled out nationwide, making it easier than ever for customers to support families affected by childhood cancer.

The partnership's first fundraising campaign saw Carraig Donn launch a limited-time online charity draw in association with Sunway Holidays, with a chance to win a holiday to Spain alongside a Carraig Donn styling experience. The draw raised more than €5,000.

Later this year, Carraig Donn will introduce a collection of exclusive charity products, with proceeds from every sale going directly towards Cancer Fund for Children's services and Daisy Lodge Mayo.

Carraig Donn stores will also be taking part in a wide range of fundraising activities throughout the year, including tea days, fashion shows, local community events and staff-led initiatives.
