Sincere Mayo condolences to 'caring person' Teresa Prendergast

The death has occurred at Mayo Hospice of Teresa Prendergast, Lightford, Castlebar.

She will be sadly missed and forever loved by her brothers James and Jarlath, sisters Rita Morgan (Armagh), Kathleen O’Leary (Dublin) and Bridie Thornhill (Bray), nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers-in-law, relatives and many friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Teresa was predeceased by her parents Tony and Kathleen (née Irwin), and her brother Geoffrey.

Teresa worked for over 30 years in St. Mary’s Hospital, Castlebar, where she was held in high regard by her colleagues and all those she met in the course of her work.

She made many life long friends during her working life.

"Teresa was always a lovely, kind and caring person," a tribute to her on social media stated.

"Teresa was a true lady everyone loved, quiet with a good sense of humour, a great cook. She has left us with fond memories," another stated.

Teresa will repose in her home in Lightford this evening (Monday) from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by removal to St. Aloysius' Church Breaffy, arriving at 7.30 p.m. for reception and prayers.

Funeral Mass takes place tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11.30 a.m.

Afterwards Teresa will be laid to rest in Breaffy Cemetery.
