Status Orange rain warning issued for Mayo overnight

A Status Orange rain warning will be in effect in Mayo overnight.

Met Éireann has issued the orange rain warning for Donegal, Galway and Mayo with effect from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Saturday.

A yellow rain warning will be in effect before that, from 9 p.m. this evening, and again from 7 to 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Very heavy and persistent rain with thunderstorms is possible, Met Éireann has advised.

Potential impacts include flooding, damage to homes and businesses, disruption and delays to public transport, very difficult travelling conditions, and lightning damage.
