Three women arrested during Doonbeg policing operation appear in court
A significant policing and security operation will continue in County Clare tomorrow for the visit of the 47th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.
Members of the public can expect ongoing restrictions on traffic and movement in West Clare, particularly in the environs of Doonbeg and Trump International Trump International Golf Links and Hotel.
A female in her 20s was arrested yesterday evening for trespassing on the golf links.
Two females (aged in their 30s and 40s) were arrested today for public order offences on the golf links.
All three females appeared at a special sitting of Ennis District Court this evening.
No other arrests have taken place.
An Garda Síochána continues to work to ensure the safety of the thousands of spectators and event related staff/ volunteers enjoying the wonderful Wild Atlantic Way coastline setting for the Amgen Irish Open.
Persons working at the event, volunteers, media attending the Amgen Irish Open are remined they must follow specific advises provided for their role and use the appropriate assigned parking.
Spectators attending the Amgen Irish Open should continue to follow the extensive information and advice provided by the DP World Tour.
Spectators attending the Amgen Irish Open are reminded that they will continue to have access to designated park n ride facilities and bus transfers to the venue.
• Access to the event is via Bus transfers from the Park n Ride sites ONLY
• There is no general parking available at or in the vicinity of the golf course.
• There is no pedestrian access to the Amgen Irish Open.
Spectators attending the Amgen Irish Open on tomorrow should allow sufficient time to arrive and progress through ticket checks and search zones.
Every person accessing the Amgen Irish Open, for whatever purpose, will be subject to increased security checks.
For safety and security reasons enhanced person and bag searches will be in operation on entry. This will be airport style security searches and scanning.
Small bags and small backpacks/ rucksacks, or similar, will be allowed onsite. For guidance this is similar to airline carry-on size bag that fits under a seat.
An Garda Síochána reminds the public of the list of prohibited items which will not be allowed through the bag search.
Further to the list of prohibited items spectators will also not be permitted to bring metal water bottles onto the event site tomorrow.
An Garda Síochána continues to remind spectators to follow guidance provided on DP World Tour and garda websites and social media platforms.
A statement outlined: "An Garda Síochána continues to work to ensure that the nature and scale of our policing and security operation continues to be proportionate to the need to protect everyone’s safety.
"Our objective is to continue to share as much information with the public where necessary as soon as we are in a position to do so.
"We would ask members of the public to heed the advice and instructions of Gardaí and we thank them for their continuing co-operation.
"Gardaí have and continue to liaise with business and local residents in the key locations and will continue to communicate directly with them during the event."
