Dry Monday ahead with sunny spells and warm temperatures

Mayo is set for a largely dry and bright start to the week, with Met Éireann forecasting sunny spells and temperatures reaching up to 17C on Monday.

The latest forecast for Connaught indicates that Monday will be mostly dry and bright, with long spells of sunshine which will turn hazy at times.

There will be just a few isolated showers during the day, while winds will remain light to moderate and mainly from the south to southeast.

Temperatures across the county are expected to reach between 14C and 17C during the afternoon.

The improved conditions follow a wet and unsettled Sunday, with rain clearing during the morning before sunny spells and scattered showers developed.

However, the settled weather is not expected to last for long, with Met Éireann forecasting a spell of wet and windy weather on Tuesday as a deep Atlantic low-pressure system moves close to Ireland.

Further unsettled and windy conditions are expected on Wednesday, with blustery showers also possible.

For Monday night, conditions will remain largely dry with some clear spells.
