Mayo SVP charity awarded grant to help eradicate child and student poverty
The work of a conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul in Castlebar has been acknowledged with a grant paid by the Department of Social Protection.
The St. Aloysius Conference focuses on child and student poverty.
By supporting children with educational and developmental needs, including cost of living at college, the volunteers on the conference make it possible for children and students to reach their potential and flourish.
The SVP Bursary and Training Fund has provided over €3 million to students for laptops, books, materials, travel, course fees, accommodation, and the other expenses which can push learning out of their reach.”
Anyone who might need assistance from the conference is welcome to enquire at: staloysius.castlebar@svp.ie
As the cost of living becomes more challenging, workers particularly struggle with increased electricity bills as well as paying more to drive to work.
For assistance with these and other costs, if needed, they are welcome to phone the Holy Rosary conference on 094 9023207 for further information, or visit www.svp.ie
