Work on new shelter for Mayo rail passengers completed

THE works on the installation of a new passenger shelter at Manulla Junction have now been completed, Senator Mark Duffy has confirmed.

“This new shelter will be a huge benefit to rail users travelling to and from Foxford and Ballina,” said Senator Duffy. “Passengers awaiting connections at Manulla Junction have been exposed to the elements for far too long and this new shelter will make a real difference to those who use the service.”

He added: “I want to commend Irish Rail for their positive and constructive engagement on this project and also for the prompt completion of the works.

“I am a long-time supporter of public transport and I will continue to advocate and deliver for public transport users in the west. Improving the passenger experience is the best way to convert road users to the benefits of rail travel and developments such as this can only help to encourage more and more people to consider taking the train.”
