Mayo business received prestigious accolade at Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards
What started as a small market stall in Belmullet has grown into a thriving local business for Nessa Garvin, owner of Butty’s Kitchen.
Butty’s Kitchen began in 2023 at Heritage Day in Belmullet, inspired by Nessa’s passion for homemade food and creating products from scratch. Since then, the business has steadily grown, and its products are now stocked by a number of local retailers.
Today, Butty’s Kitchen products can be found in SuperValu Achill, Grub & Deli in Ballina, Eurospar and Centra in Belmullet, Carabines in Bangor, and online here.
A particularly proud achievement came when Butty’s Kitchen entered the prestigious Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards. The business received a Silver Award for its Almond Toffee Brittle, recognising the care and craftsmanship behind each product.
Nessa Garvin said: “I was absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to have my product recognised among so many wonderful Irish food producers.”
Despite its growth, the ethos remains unchanged. Products continue to be made with care, attention to detail, and a small-batch approach.
The range includes award-winning Almond Toffee Brittle, Homemade Granola and Chocolate Orange Biscuit Cake.
Nessa is hugely grateful for the continued support of local customers and businesses as Butty’s Kitchen grows from a market stall into a much-loved local brand.
