Rain and blustery conditions on the way for Mayo

MAYO is set for a cloudy and increasingly unsettled Monday, with Met Éireann forecasting outbreaks of rain and drizzle alongside strengthening winds.

Tomorrow will begin mostly dry across the county, although lingering patches of mist and drizzle are possible during the morning.

Cloud will dominate for much of the day before further outbreaks of rain and drizzle move in from the Atlantic during the afternoon and evening.

Despite the unsettled conditions, temperatures will remain relatively mild for the time of year, with afternoon highs of 15 to 17 degrees.

Southerly winds will strengthen throughout the day, becoming moderate to fresh and particularly blustery along exposed Atlantic coastal areas.

Monday night will see further outbreaks of rain before conditions gradually clear eastwards, with scattered showers following from the Atlantic.

Overnight temperatures will range from 10 to 14 degrees.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, Met Éireann is forecasting a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, with temperatures reaching between 13 and 17 degrees nationally.

The remainder of the week is expected to bring mixed conditions, with further spells of rain and breezy weather before indications of a more settled spell towards next weekend.
