Mayo couples celebrate marriage anniversaries at Tuam ceremony
The Annual Diocesan Celebration of Marriage Anniversaries has taken place at Tuam Cathedral.
Celebrations began with Mass celebrated by Archbishop Francis Duffy.
Forty-five couples from various parishes around the diocese attended the celebrations.
Among those present at the ceremony were four couples celebrating their Diamond Jubilee. Fr. Fergal Cunnane, PP, Dunmore, concelebrated the Mass.
Fr. Fergal’s parents, Padraic and Maureen, were among those celebrating a significant anniversary of their marriage.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the Tuam Cathedral Choir under the direction of Mark Keane. Invitations to this annual celebration were extended through the Sunday Newsletters in parishes throughout the archdiocese.
This annual event, organised by the Diocesan Pastoral Council, seeks to honour the vocation of marriage and to celebrate couples who have reached significant marriage anniversaries.
The group photograph was taken in the Cathedral at the end of the ceremony.
After the Mass, Archbishop Duffy invited all present to refreshments in St. Jarlath's College.
