Mayo golfers in Connacht Shield title bid today

THE Ballyhaunis Golf Club gents Connacht Shield team will attempt to bring the Connacht title back to Ballyhaunis for the first time in 24 years today when they take on Oughterard.

Following a fantastic first-leg performance, Ballyhaunis hold a 2½ to 1½ lead heading into the home leg.

Tee-off at Ballyhaunis Golf Club today is at 12 noon.

The Ballyhaunis team members are: Paul Finn and Charlie Finn, David Burke and Barry Freeman, Kevin Heneghan and Sean Horan, Oisin Henry and Ruairi Freeman.

The club has urged a big support to come out and get behind the team as they bid to make history and bring the Connacht Shield home.
