Popular south Mayo bakery announces closure date

Cloonan’s Bakery, Bowgate Street, Ballinrobe, will close its door for the final time on October 31.

The business is owned by Noel Cloonan, and over the years the traditional bakery has gained a loyal clientele.

Noel Cloonan thanked his customers through a post on Cloonan’s Bakery’s Facebook page: “I have decided the time has come for me to retire and we will be closing our door on October 31.

"I would like to take the time to thank everyone who has supported Cloonan's over the last 13 years.

"It has been a pleasure for me to share my passion of baking with you all and I wish you all much happiness in your futures.

"The time has come for me to enjoy retirement; I would like to thank all my staff over the years, and it has been a pleasure to work with every one of you.

“Again, many thanks from your friendly neighbourhood Baker.”
