Mayo club joins Tourism Ireland in drive to boost golf tourism
Tourism Ireland’s drive to boost golf visitor numbers from around the world continues this week at the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) in Cannes.
Eighteen golf and tourism operators from Ireland – including Carne Golf Links, Belmullet – have joined Tourism Ireland at this important event for the global golf travel community, which brings together more than 1,300 golf travel professionals who design and sell golf holidays globally.
The companies from Ireland are engaging in four days of one-to-one, pre-scheduled appointments as well as networking sessions with the golf travel professionals, when they will negotiate and exchange vital contracts for 2027. Over 1,000 commercial meetings will be conducted on the Ireland stand this week.
Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s head of global partnerships, commented: “IGTM is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our world-class golf offering to influential golf travel professionals from around the world, negotiate new business, and secure overseas golf visitors for Ireland in 2027 and beyond.
“With more than 1,000 commercial meetings taking place on the Ireland stand this week, our industry partners have an invaluable opportunity to connect directly with tour operators and buyers who create and sell golf holidays globally.
“Our message is that Ireland offers golfers the complete package, with some of the finest links and parkland courses in the world, spectacular scenery, exceptional hospitality and unique visitor experiences.
“With the countdown now on for the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, events like these provide a powerful platform to inspire golfers to choose Ireland for their next golfing holiday.”
